The Big Pedal

As in previous years we shall be taking part in the Big Pedal, this year themed on the benefits of active travel and discovering amazing journeys to school from around the world.

Schools all over the country compete to see who can record the greatest number of pupils, staff and parents cycling, walking or scooting to school.

We shall also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on the 22nd April by promoting greener, cleaner ways of travelling.

Interesting Fact: In 2019, 6,153kg of nitrogen oxide and 2,833 tonnes of CO2 were avoided as a result of this 10-day challenge.

And today’s good news is that we have already won an early bird prize as one of the first schools to sign up to take part – 31 Sustrans Bio Water Bottles and 31 Slap Bands which we shall award as prizes during the Big Pedal.
